My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Spencer — A Gentle Little Soul Ready for a Quiet, Cozy Home
6½-year-old Mini Poodle
Fostered in Mt. Laurel, NJ

Spencer is the kind of dog who doesn’t burst into the room with chaos — he quietly tiptoes into your heart instead. He’s a sweet, calm, “just-happy-to-be-near-you” kind of boy who is learning what comfort and love truly feel like… and he’s doing such a wonderful job.

Spencer is a mellow little couch buddy who loves lounging, sniffing around outside, and soaking up gentle affection — especially cuddles and back rubs He’s happiest when life is peaceful and predictable, and he truly blossoms in a calm environment.

Spencer would do best with another calm, older dog in the home.
He feels more secure with a canine buddy and enjoys running around off leash in a fenced yard with another dog once he warms up.

Spencer’s Personality:

Chill, sweet, and gentle
A little shy at first, but warms up with time
Loves being in the same room as you (your tiny shadow!)
Intrigued by the TV
Gets spooked by loud noises, but improves as he feels safe

Spencer is good with:

Dogs (prefers calm older dogs)
Kids (but happiest in a quieter home)
Adults & seniors
Men & women
Cats: unknown, but likely fine

Home Life & Training:

Crate trained (sleeps in crate overnight & when alone — no accidents!)
Potty training in progress (he goes when outside, still learning inside manners)
Uses puppy pads for poops + wears belly bands during the day
Leash training in progress (he’s not a huge fan yet — and definitely not a fan of snow )

He was surrendered from a breeder and is ready to live his best life.

Bonus: Grooming superstar!

Spencer is AMAZING for grooming — scissors, nail grinder, clippers… he just calmly lets you do what you need to do
(He’s not thrilled about ear cleaning, but he’s still very good!)

Spencer’s ideal home:

A calm, loving home
A fenced yard is strongly preferred (he’s still gaining confidence on leash)
Another calm dog is a MUST HAVE
Kids are okay, but a home without full-time little ones would be best

Spencer is the type of dog who will quietly follow you from room to room, curl up beside you on the couch, and make your house feel like home.

Go meet their pets

Our rescues are with fosters on the east coast. The location in which the foster resides should be listed with each profile.

We are setting up some adoption events now, but are free for private meet and greets if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets!

More about this rescue

We have a passion for senior animals. To be able to save an animal from dying alone in a shelter, to give it a chance to live out its last days/months/years in a home with the proper care and love it deserves, instead of a cold shelter, is what drives us to keep going.

We obviously have financial needs that come with rescuing senior dogs, so we will be rescuing puppies and younger dogs as well so we are able to care for our seniors.
