My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Ivy!

I’m a 6-week-old female Catahoula mix with a tiny body and a huge heart. As the runt of my litter, I may be the smallest, but don’t let that fool you — I keep right up with my sisters and bring plenty of personality wherever I go.

My story began when my sisters and I were surrendered to the shelter at just two weeks old, without our mom. Thankfully, Ruff Road Revival stepped in and gave us the chance every puppy deserves. We were quickly introduced to a loving nursing mama dog who welcomed us as her own, and because of her care — along with the people who fought for us — I’ve grown into a happy, thriving little girl.

Being the runt just means I get extra creative when it comes to fun. I absolutely love to play, wrestle with my sisters, and explore anything new. But once I’ve worn myself out, I’m all about the snuggles. Curling up in a warm lap or being carried around is pretty much my idea of heaven.

A few things to know about me:

  • Great with kids

  • Wonderful with other dogs

  • Comfortable around chickens and goats

  • Making great progress with potty training

  • Playful, affectionate, and full of spirit

Since I’m still very young, I’m looking for a family ready to help me grow into the amazing dog I’m meant to be. Puppies take patience, consistency, and lots of love — but I promise to repay you with a lifetime of loyalty, laughter, and companionship.

I will be available to go to a foster-to-adopt home starting February 20, 2026, and I am more than ready to find the family who will cherish me forever.

If you’re looking for a small-but-mighty best friend who loves to play just as much as she loves to snuggle, apply to adopt me!

Their adoption process

1.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

All of our pets are in foster homes, so they would visit our website or social media to find a pet

2.

Submit Application

We have an adoption application online that has to be submitted before any action is taken.

3.

Interview

I, or a team member, interview the potential adopter via phone call and then the foster interviews them as well.

4.

Approve Application

The adopter must be vetted and approved prior to any further steps.

5.

Meet the Pet

If the adopter is local, they would schedule a meet and greet with the foster at this time. If they are out of state, they would video chat.

6.

Sign Adoption Contract

7.

Pay Fee

Additional adoption info

The final step is to take the pet home either in person if local or if out of state, the pet goes on transport to their new home. If they go on transport, they receive a health certificate prior.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

They are all foster-based so meet and greets will be set up with the fosters. At this time we do not do adoption events but that may change in the future.

More about this rescue

Ruff Road Revival is a foster-based animal rescue based in DFW, TX. We prioritize saving animals from euthanasia at local shelters and getting strays off of the streets and into homes. We adopt both locally and out of state. I started the rescue because there is a crisis especially here in Texas with the overpopulation of dogs and cats as well as euthanasia for space. I have always loved animals and have volunteered with many different species but running my own rescue has always been something I felt called to do. I wanted to do my part to make a difference and help these animals.
