Brooke and her puppies were recently featured on the news in Memphis — and sadly, not for a good reason. During the last brutal cold snap (single-digit temps), this brave mama was outside with her newborn babies. Brooke did everything she could to keep them safe until the team at Memphis Animal Services stepped in and secured their safety.
We were asked if we’d give this little family a fresh start — of course, we said yes.
The puppies are now 8 weeks old (as of 2/14) and will need a couple more weeks before they’re ready to travel. They’re currently thriving in a loving foster home, enjoying warm beds, full bellies, and lots of puppy playtime — with mom right by their side providing wonderful care.
These are typical puppies: fun, exhausting, pee-poop-repeat, zoomies included.
That also means typical puppy energy! Please be sure you’re ready for the commitment — crate training and house training in winter/early spring isn’t always easy, but it is absolutely doable.

Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date. All vaccinations required after adoption are the adopter's responsibility. Puppy Adoption Fee: $600.00 (includes a spay/neuter surgery rebate to be paid to the adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England). We can provide adopters with a list of low-cost SN clinics when requested.
The adoption fee also includes the transport fee when applicable
ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS: You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience. This requirement is for your benefit and your puppy's, so if you experience behavioral issues, you have a point of contact.
PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?

PAWS is comprised of a small group of volunteers from New England and Tennessee trying to reduce the euthanization rate (previously 90%) at the Tipton County Animal Control shelter in Brighton, Tennessee. This shelter is forced to euthanize thousands of animals each year due to irresponsible pet owners that do not spay/ neuter their dogs in the area. Millions of dogs in America are euthanized each year due to lack of space and lack of funding to try and find them better homes.
Our mission is to save as many animals as possible, removing them from the shelter, having their veterinary needs met prior to traveling and then finding them loving homes throughout New England. We do this only with the assistance of many people volunteering their time by going to the shelter, transporting the dogs to the vet, fostering dogs who need special care, and arranging for their new and happy homes in this area. Most importantly, we cannot do any of this without those people willing to open their homes and hearts to these lovely creatures.
