My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

15 week red lab mix ready to find is forever home

Drake is a 15-week-old mixed breed puppy who absolutely loves to cuddle and be close to his people. He is affectionate, sweet, and full of joyful puppy energy. Drake has the classic “play hard, nap hard” personality — enjoying bursts of zoomies and playtime followed by long, cozy naps (often right on your lap).

Drake is happiest when he’s with us or with our dogs and will thrive in a home that can continue his training and socialization as he grows. He is a smart puppy who learns quickly and responds well to gentle correction and redirection.

House training is coming along very well. and clearly signals when he needs to go outside. Like any young puppy, he will need frequent potty breaks and continued consistency.

Drake is currently crated at night in our room and does well there. However, he does not yet feel comfortable being crated when he cannot see people and will bark or howl if he feels alone. Because of this, Drake will need a family who is home most of the time at first and can patiently help him build confidence and independence.

Drake is an active, athletic puppy with long legs and loves to run, play, and explore. A fenced yard is not required, but his future family should be prepared to provide regular exercise and fun outlets for his energy as he matures. Even though we have a fenced yard, Drake is currently taken outside on leash because he is still learning boundaries.

Drake has been wonderful with our dogs. He initiates puppy play, is respectful, and loves curling up on the sofa to snooze with them..

Another dog in the home may help with his confidence.

Drake has met young children and did well, but because he is a bouncy, mouthy puppy, he would do best with puppy-savvy children.

Cats are currently unknown.

With guidance, consistency, and lots of love, Drake will grow into a wonderful companion who will happily fit into his family’s everyday life and routines.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All applicants complete an application and have a home visit before being approved to adopt. Once approved to adopt, they wait to find the right dog for their family. They are required to sign a pre-adoptive agreement and keep the dog they are matched with for a 3 week pre-adoptive period. If all goes well during that period, they sign an adoption agreement and adopt the dog. The fees vary depending on the age and altered status of the dog. We do require all dogs to be altered if they are not already and require obedience training as well

Go meet their pets

Some , but not all, of our dogs are present at events we attend throughout our coverage areas in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. For the most part, adopters do not meet a dog until they are introduced to the dog they are matched with. This introduction takes place after they have a home visit and are matched with one of our dogs and the meeting is held at a neutral location half way between the dog and the applicant.

More about this rescue

We are a labrador retriever rescue that places labs and lab mixes in new homes. We do this because we love the lab breed and want to be sure dogs in need of a new home find the right home for them.
