Meet the Pet
This helps Poodle and Pooch Rescue with pet care costs.
Calling ALL Chihuahua lovers . . . my name is Noni and I’m your quintessential Chihuahua guy - a lil' spicy, a lotta' sweet and filled with the confidence of a 100- lb. dog. I'm 5 years old and 6 lbs. of personality. I’m looking for an “adult only” and “Chihuahua Savvy” home where I can be your best friend.
Favorite Things: Not to brag, but Noni considers himself an “expert snuggler” and in typical Chihuahua fashion, he loves to burrow under the blankets beside you and curl himself into the tiniest little Chi-ball. He loves to smother you with kisses all over your face and greatly appreciates gentle scratches around his soft, fluffy neck. Other fun activities for Noni include car rides, sunbathing, lizard hunting and “watering” all the plants in the yard.
Training & Manners: Noni is working on his house training and as long as he's kept on a regular schedule, he does well. He is still working on his basic manners and working with a leash. Noni is super smart and food motivated so training this little peanut will be a lot of fun! Noni sounds perfect, right? For the most part, he is! Until he isn't. Noni is learning to trust and if he's pushed into situations that make him uncomfortable, he can be reactive. For this reason, he requires an adult-only home. He needs someone that's savvy and can read his signs. He lets you know when he's uncomfortable and as long as you understand each other, he really is the best little buddy!
Health and Care: Noni is a healthy little man who is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and recently had his pearly whites polished. Like any dog, Noni will require his monthly heartworm and flea preventatives. His short, soft coat will not require elaborate professional grooming outside of regular baths and nail trims.
Other Animals: Noni gets along perfectly with big and small dogs and would probably be just fine with feline friends too. He'd also be fine as your one and only pet, as he tends to prefer his humans over other fur friends. Although he does occasionally initiate playtime with his similar sized foster brother. Sometimes he even grabs a stuffed toy and tosses it in the air too!
Children: Noni will require an “adult only” home.
Ideal Home: Noni will require a single-family home, and he prefers to have someone home more often than not. He does cry and whine when left behind, so shared walls would not be ideal. He's also not a harness and leash kinda' guy so a fenced yard is a must. At night, Noni is happy to curl up and sleep with you in the “people bed”.
Overall: Noni is a little lover who is looking for someone who appreciates all things Chihuahua (if you know, you know).
Are you the one for Noni? Then visit our website at www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. His adoption donation is $375.
