My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Huff & Puff – The Handsome Bonded Brothers 💛
Hello there! We’re Huff and Puff, a pair of very handsome, very devoted brothers who are just a tiny bit shy at first — but oh, are we worth the wait.
We were rescued when we were a little older, but our amazing foster moms saw something special in us. With a few gentle chin scratches, we quickly realized that being loved is actually the best thing ever. Now, once you start petting us… we really hope you don’t plan on stopping anytime soon!
We may need a little extra time to fully blossom in a new home, but we have never been aggressive — only a bit unsure. We were born outside to a feral mama, so the world felt big and scary at first. These days, we are absolutely thrilled to be safe, cozy, and well-fed with all the love we can soak up.
We’re about 6 months old, neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative — healthy boys ready for our forever home!

🖤 Meet Huff
I’m the shyer brother, and I’m just a little darker than Puff. I adore gentle pets, chin scratches, and even belly rubs once I trust you. It may take me a bit longer to fully come out of my shell, but I promise I’m trying my best every day.
I need to be adopted with my brother, Puff. He makes me feel safe and helps build my confidence. I love playing with him, cuddling beside him, and snuggling up with our foster moms. With Puff by my side, I feel brave.

🤎 Meet Puff
I’m the more outgoing one! You can tell us apart because I have a little patch of brown on top of my head. I’m usually the first to approach and show Huff that everything is okay.
I love being near my humans — pets, chin scratches, companionship — I’m all in! I take my brother duties seriously and help Huff understand that people are kind, loving, and safe. Together, we play, cuddle, explore, and stick close to each other. We truly are a package deal.
We both enjoy Fancy Feast Chicken Gravy Lovers wet food and Purina One Chicken Kitten dry food. We do well with other cats but haven’t been tested with other animals. Because we’re still building confidence, we’d thrive in a quiet home without young children. With patience and a slow introduction, we know we’ll settle in beautifully.
We’re incredibly soft, incredibly sweet, and incredibly ready to love someone who will give us the time we need.
Are you a patient, kind-hearted person willing to help two shy boys continue to blossom? We promise — your patience will be rewarded with double the love, double the cuddles, and double the devotion.
Could that someone be you? 💕

More about this rescue

🐾 Our Mission at Billy the Kidden Rescue 🐾

Billy the Kidden Rescue is a VDACS-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, founded in 2014 and supported by a network of over 60 active foster homes across Hampton Roads.

Our mission is to improve the lives of displaced cats and reduce the feral cat population in our community by socializing outdoor-born and feral kittens—transforming them into loving, adoptable pets and placing them in safe, forever homes.

💙 Our Heart is in TNR
We are proud advocates of TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return)—the humane, effective method of managing community cats. Through this program, feral cats are:

✔️ Trapped
✔️ Neutered or Spayed
✔️ Vaccinated
✔️ Ear-Tipped (as a universal sign they've been fixed)
✔️ Returned to live safely in their outdoor colonies without contributing to overpopulation.

We are actively working to promote legal and social acceptance of TNR in Hampton Roads.

🐱 Feral Kitten Socialization
Our feral kitten socialization program is one of a kind—with a 90% success rate in helping feral-born kittens become affectionate, in-home pets. Through experienced fostering, patience, and love, these kittens learn to trust, play, and thrive indoors.

💪 Get Involved!
We’re always looking for passionate animal lovers to join our team. Help us make a difference by becoming a:
