My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Marshmallow!

Marshmallow is a black and white beauty with the most unique, eye-catching markings - she's truly one of a kind! This sweet girl loves to perch up high where she can survey her kingdom, whether it's the top of a cat tree or a cozy shelf by the window.

While she enjoys her elevated hangout spots, Marshmallow is quick to hop down the moment she spots you - especially if you come bearing tasty snacks! She greets her people with adorable head butts and happily leans in for chin scratches, soaking up the attention with her gentle, loving nature.

Marshmallow has previously lived well with other cats and could do great with a feline friend in her new home. She's the perfect mix of independent and affectionate - happy to lounge up high, but always ready to share sweet moments with her favorite humans.

If you're looking for a charming, playful girl with a soft heart and lots of personality, Marshmallow might just be your perfect match!

The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst
