Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
This helps Animal Care Centers of NYC | Manhattan with pet care costs.
My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!
I have lived with cats in my previous home.
I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.
I am looking for a home with a patient person.
I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.
I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.
I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them.
What my friends at ACC say about me:
Gia was hiding in the den curled up with her rear at the front and her head turned around to face the assessor when removing the den cover. She ignores treats offered and presses herself further back when reaching close. She allows petting on the head, cheeks, and body but she lip licks, her eyes widen, and she does not engage with the attention. When applying gentle upward pressure on her side and chest, lifting her up to the ceiling of the den, she tenses up and stands her ground. After placing her back down, she curls up at the back corner with her tail tight around her body, lip licks, and continues to tolerate more petting and attention.
