My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Arthur: A Brave Little Husky with a Heart of Gold 🐾

Arthur is an 11 week old, blind and deaf puppy, but his disabilities are no match for his determination and joy! Though he can't see or hear the world around him, he navigates life with confidence, independence, and an infectious zest for living.

Arthur LOVES tug of war and will happily entertain himself with toys when you need a break. He's a zoomer at heart—give him a yard and watch him run with pure joy! Despite his high energy, Arthur has mastered the art of crate relaxation, settling down almost immediately when it's rest time. He's even a champion car rider, making him the perfect adventure companion for your family outings.

Arthur doesn't let his blindness and deafness slow him down one bit! He's a confident little soul who has figured out how to thrive, and his bravery will absolutely melt your heart. He communicates with the most adorable squeaks and squeals that will have you smiling all day long.
Arthur's ideal home would be an active household, ideally with another friendly dog to play and romp with. He's working on basic commands (currently mastering "sit"!) and would benefit from a family committed to continuing his training journey using touch-based cues. Arthur is already crate-trained and does wonderfully when left alone—no separation anxiety here!

Arthur is friendly with new people and wants to play with other dogs, food-motivated (gets very excited at mealtimes!), he is still working on potty training when loose in the house!

Arthur is neutered, utd on age appropriate vaccines, fecal tested, and microchipped.

Additional adoption info

Peace Love and Paws Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit, animal welfare organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of stray, neglected and abused animals. Peace Love and Paws Rescue is completely funded through fundraising efforts and public donations. All of our pets are cared for by foster homes and receive complete medical care, which includes worming, vaccinations, spaying/neutering and microchipping prior to their adoption.

This questionnaire is designed to help Peace Love and Paws Rescue determine if a specific dog is the right match for you and your household. All adopting and fostering parties are required to complete this form prior to adoption. Peace Love and Paws Rescue reserves the right to deny any adoption or fostering based on answers to this questionnaire and/or interviews prior to adoptions and placing foster homes!

More about this rescue

We are three passionate, animal loving dog moms who met through various volunteer efforts at local rescues in the Detroit area. We continued talking outside of volunteering and quickly came to realize that we all had similar goals, to help as many animals in need that we possibly could. In the Detroit area, there are so many animals who need homes, medical attention, and love.

We decided that we wanted to be able to do more to help these animals. We are raising funds through selling merchandise, fundraising, donations, and supporting local community events. All funds raised will be used to establish a nonprofit status, fund the medical needs of local dogs, and find shelter animals their furever home.

Follow us on our journey to create a rescue that provides animals the love and care they need while they find their home. We will post updates on our social media of the dogs we are able to help and how your support made a difference.
