Meet Amelia!

This beautiful 3-year-old German Shepherd is as sweet as she is stunning. She loves going for walks and is a dream on the leash — calm, easy, and happy just to be by your side. She’s learning to ride in the car and is doing great with short trips.

At home, she’s gentle and well-mannered. She spends a little kennel time only when her foster mom goes shopping, and at night she sleeps peacefully in the bedroom. She’s calm, affectionate, and very easy to correct — always eager to please and learn.

If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will fill your days with quiet joy and steady companionship, this lovely girl is the one for you.

GHGSDR holds Meet and Greets @ several Petco stores in the Houston area each month, usually from 1pm to 4pm. Check our homepage for locations and dates.

On our homepage we list the names of the dogs that are expected to be at the event - check 1 or 2 days before the event.

More about this rescue

GHGSDR volunteers are dedicated to saving as many German Shepherds in the Greater Houston Metro area as humanly possible - based on current resources of available foster homes, the rate at which we can find suitably matched adoptive homes, and of course, financial resources for veterinary care.

GHGSDR Shepherds mostly come from animal shelters where they are awaiting euthanasia. All of these Shepherd Dogs need loving, forever homes and families to call their own. We have several GSDs available for adoption and we regularly take in more Shepherds under our wings and into our Rescue Program, increasing the numbers of dogs available for adoption. Whenever we can, we also work with other dog rescue groups in Texas and nationwide to help ensure the safety and security of these wonderful animals.
