Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Miso is a very playful and sweet, one-year-old cat looking for his forever home!
This handsome stripey guy is a bit quiet and reserved at first, but he warms up pretty quickly and does enjoy being around people.
He especially loves playing with toys and having fun with his foster kitty brother, Haku. An affectionate boy, Miso loves getting pets and does well with being picked up occasionally. He is not yet a fan of being held for prolonged periods, but we are currently working on that.
Miso is an active guy, who spends a lot of time running around the house with his foster brother Haky, eating, playing with toys, and checking out the comings and goings of the neighborhood from a spot at the window. he spends his day playing with his foster brother, eating, playing with toys and sitting in the window
This sweet boy currently lives with two humans and his foster cat brother in a house. His ideal home would be with a kind, patient human who works from home or is around a lot, and who will enjoy playing with him and giving him plenty of affection…while still respecting his boundaries as he adjusts to his new surroundings.
Miso would love to be adopted with his foster brother Haku, or to a home with another active young resident cat to help him build confidence and trust. This cute guy gets startled easily and isn’t a fan of loud noises or abrupt movements; therefore, he needs to be in a calm home without young children. Gentle, cat-savvy older kids would be okay.
If you’re looking for a sweet, busy companion that you can help to feel safe and love in his new home, Miso (and maybe Haku too?) would love to meet you.
There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimates.
Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.
All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.

Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

Our Mission
Pet Haven improves the lives of pets and the people who love them by rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs and cats; reducing pet overpopulation by supporting spay and neuter efforts, and providing resources to people that help strengthen the human-animal bond.
Our Vision
A Minnesota where all pets live in safe, loving homes.
Our Values
Excellence in service and care; community; integrity; innovation; perseverance; compassion; a rewarding place to volunteer
How We Help
Spay/Neuter Initiative Program: Providing support to end pet overpopulation in Minnesota
Owner Surrender: Providing a safe haven for pet owners
Foster: Committed to finding forever homes for cats and dogs
Phoenix Fund for Special Needs: Providing veterinary care for animals in need of healing
What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
