Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
This helps Animal Care Centers of NYC | Manhattan with pet care costs.
What my friends at ACC say about me:
I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.
I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.
I am looking for a home with a patient person.
I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some feline body language together!
I have potential behavior challenges that staff will address with you when you meet me.
Seymour is at the front of the kennel, pupils dilated, softly meowing, and pawing outside of the kennel door to solicit attention as the assessor approaches. When the kennel door is opened, he allows and leans into all petting, stretching forward before walking out of the kennel. He is able to be easily picked up and placed back, continuing to allow all petting when placed back into his kennel. Seymour gently bats at and mouths the assessor's hands, not using pressure or claws. When the interaction is ended and the kennel door is closed, Seymour remains at the front of the kennel, softly meowing and pawing outside of the kennel door to solicit further attention.
Seymour has been friendly, social, and tolerates attention and petting but appears prone to overstimulation. He may be a little more independent and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
