My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Duke!
Duke is a handsome, young pup with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He’s full of energy and loves to play, making him a great companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. Duke has done wonderfully in playgroups with other dogs, showing that he can be social and have fun in the right setting.
He’s still learning about the world and would thrive in a home that can provide structure and positive reinforcement. Duke prefers a calmer environment, so he’d do best in a home without very young children. He’s working on his leash manners and can be a little reactive when seeing or meeting other dogs on walks, but with patience and training, he’s sure to improve. He went out on wondering rovers and it was reported he was easily redirected.
If you’re looking for a loyal, playful friend who’s ready to learn and grow with you, Duke might be your perfect match!

Additional adoption info

We've got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt! The adoption process begins online, and all adoptions are done by appointment only. To reduce the animals' overall stress levels, we have decided to limit animal viewing to those people with appointments for specific animals.

How it works:

1. Check out our available animals online. If you see an animal you’re interested in, fill out that species adoption questionnaire at https://www.everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet to start the adoption process. Please be sure to include the name of the animal that you are interested in adopting. Questionnaires will only be reviewed if a specific animal is identified. You aren't obligated to adopt that pet, but it's a place to start.

2. Our staff will review your questionnaire and contact you to discuss the adoption. Please note that it often takes several days before you are contacted. We appreciate your patience! (If it has been longer than one week and you haven’t heard from us, please email us.)

3. Most animals will be available to go home the same day as the adoption meeting.

Adoptions by Appointment
Our shelter is currently closed for general animal viewing, but we’ve still got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt them. To help keep our staff, volunteers and community healthy, we are now providing adoptions by appointment. This enables us to comply with social distancing guidelines while still finding loving homes for the pets in our care.
