Bailey is a gorgeous 1 year old chocolate tri-colored beagle girl with golden eyes and the prettiest springling of freckles. She is small and only weighs 22 pounds. She was an owner surrender because she played too rough with their cat. She has lived with kids and loved sleeping in bed with their 7-year-old son. She enjoyed playing with their 65-pound husky. They did not have a fenced yard and was not able to house train her so she will require a fenced yard as she will not potty on a tie out or a leash.
In her foster home she enjoys playing with the resident beagle and doing zoomies in the yard. She loves her daily walk and can walk 2-3 miles with no problem. We've worked hard on her housetraining and she is doing great as long as you go out with her and take her out every 3-4 hours. She also knows how to use a doggie door. She loves to sleep with foster mommy at night and curls up close. She's very loving, outgoing and sweet. As are most beagles, she is very food motivated and will sit for a treat. She does not like to be crated except when she rides in one in the car.
Her perfect family would be active, have another dog for her to play with, take her daily walks and give her lots and lots of snuggles.
If you think Bailey is a good match for your family, please contact your Midwest BREW adoption counselor for more information.
NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

More about this rescue
Midwest Beagle Rescue, Education and Welfare, Inc is a 501(c)3 non profit, all-volunteer organization located in the Midwest, funded by donations and dedicated to rescuing beagles from high-kill shelters. Our foster homes provide loving temporary care until we are able to find them well matched, carefully screened forever homes. By working with local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities we are able to give proper medical care to the beagles in our program. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition. We adopt beagles to families within Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, western Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and have also placed beagles into loving homes in Minnesota, Iowa, and Missouri.
