Hi… I’m Mango 🧡

I’m about 1½ years old, a handsome short-haired tabby, and I’m just beginning to figure out that being someone’s beloved cat is actually pretty wonderful.

I’ll be honest — I can be a little skittish at first. When hands reach for me too quickly, I might back up. It’s not that I don’t want love… I just need a little time to feel safe. If you let me come to you, though? That’s when the magic happens.

I’m energetic and playful, curious like any young cat, and I definitely know what I want. I’m also very vocal — if I’m hungry or I’d like some attention, you’ll hear all about it! One of my favorite things (once I trust you) is belly rubs. I’ve even just started sitting on my foster and letting her rock me while she pets me. That’s a big deal for me. It means I’m learning to feel safe.

I’m potty trained, well-mannered in the house, and I do well with older cats. I’m not dominant — I’d actually really like a calm cat sibling to help me feel secure. Dogs aren’t my thing, though, so I’d prefer a no-dog home.

My ideal home would be a small, quiet family (1–3 people), maybe in an apartment or townhome, with older kids (10+) who understand that I need patience and gentle handling. I truly blossom when people move slowly with me and let me build trust at my own pace.

Once I trust you, I become affectionate, loving, and devoted. I’m already showing how sweet I can be — I just need someone willing to give me that little bit of extra time.

**A word from my foster:** Mango’s future adopters will need to be patient and move at his pace, as he’s still learning to trust. He’s a wonderful, curious kitty who simply needs a little time to feel safe. Once he builds that trust, his affectionate and loving personality truly shines.

All Dogs / Puppies / Cats / Kittens are up to date on age appropriate vaccines, spay/neuter, flea/heart worm prevention, and are microchipped prior to adoption. If you are meeting a puppy or kitten that is not ready for adoption there may be a waiting period until they are fully ready to go home.

Adoption fee - Along with the individual animals vetting and daily care costs, the adoption fee helps Mercy Full Project cover additional vet bills, maintain their facility, and cover the cost of their operations in order to rescue more animals in need.
