This adorable 4-month-old Collie mix is a bright, bouncy boy with a heart full of potential! Curious, clever, and full of puppy charm, he’s looking for an active, structured home where he can learn, grow, and thrive. He is currently working on house training and alone training, and will benefit from continued consistency and positive reinforcement as he builds these important skills. With daily leash walks, fun food enrichment, and reward-based training, he’ll blossom into a wonderful companion. He enjoys calm, controlled dog introductions and will do best bonding closely with his people in a fenced backyard rather than busy off-leash parks. As a growing puppy, he’ll need an adopter committed to setting him up for success with appropriate items to chew on, helping him learn healthy outlets for his natural puppy behaviors. The City of Calgary is once again adopting cats and dogs at the Animal Services Centre in addition to transferring adoptable pets to our partner agencies, to help animals find their furever homes faster.
Shelters and rescue agencies are currently at capacity with the overpopulation of homeless animals. The City reinstated its adoption program to assist with this crisis by making adoptable animals available by appointment. Once a pet is deemed adoptable, they are available either at the Animal Services Centre or one of our partner agencies: the Calgary Humane Society, or the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS).
Adoptions are available by appointment only by calling 311 or by visiting Animal Services. Appointment are available from 10:00am thru 5:30pm (this may change and is subject to availability) Monday through Saturday. Adoption cost is $169 + GST for cats and $225 + GST for dogs. Adoption fees include medical and dental care, vaccinations, microchip, City of Calgary licence, and spaying/neutering.
