My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dio and Elke! Double the trouble, double the love. Dio and Elke are a bonded brother-and-sister duo who have spent their whole lives side by side, and they simply can’t imagine life apart. At just 1.5 years old, these two are bursting with energy, curiosity, and playful antics and they rely on each other for comfort, courage, and endless fun. Dio, the sleek black boy, and Elke, his fawn sister, are truly a dynamic duo...what one starts, the other finishes, and together they make every day an adventure.

These two came to us because their previous family could no longer care for them, but the transition hasn’t slowed them down. They’ve adapted beautifully and while their energy is boundless, it’s balanced by their deep bond and ability to keep each other company. They love to run, zoom around, and entertain anyone watching, and their zest for life is utterly contagious. Elke can be a little shy at first, but with a few gentle pats and some treats, her sweet, affectionate personality shines right through.

Dio and Elke would thrive in a home that can match their activity level - long walks, play sessions, and mental stimulation are key. They also get along well with other dogs and adore meeting new people, so they’re social butterflies with a twist of teamwork. But the real secret to their happiness is each other. These two are inseparable and must be adopted together to keep their strong bond.

If you’re ready for a double dose of love, laughter, and puppy energy, Dio and Elke are waiting for you. Could your home be the next chapter in their story? Please inquire today!

More about this rescue

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
