My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bold, beautiful, and swirled in a rich mosaic of black and amber, Texas is every bit as striking as her name suggests. This gorgeous tortie girl carries herself with an air of quiet mystery, but don't let that fool you. Underneath that cool exterior is a girl who absolutely knows what she wants, and she's not shy about it once she decides you've earned her trust.

At first, Texas plays it coy. She'll size you up from across the room with those pretty eyes, acting perfectly unbothered — as if she couldn't care less whether you notice her or not. But give her a little time and patience, and she'll come around in the most charming way. One day you'll look down and realize she's been sitting beside you for the last twenty minutes, and somehow it feels like the greatest compliment you've ever received.

Once Texas decides you're her person, there's no going back. She's a devoted little shadow who loves attention on her own terms, and she will make it very clear when it's time for chin scratches and cuddles. Her absolute weakness? Churu treats. Produce one of those, and Texas will forget every bit of her dignity and become your very best friend instantly.

When she's not charming the people around her, you'll find her perched at her favorite window, watching the world go by with the quiet intensity of someone who has very important thoughts about the birds outside.

Texas is looking for a patient, loving home that will let her warm up at her own pace and will always keep the Churus stocked.

More about this rescue

Stray to Spay is a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) organization dedicated to helping community cats. When we come across friendly cats and kittens during our work, we bring them into foster care to prepare them for adoption. Every cat receives full vetting, lots of love, and a safe start to their new life indoors.
