My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Chocolate - yes...she's white. There's white chocolate. Or we're being ironic. Choose your own adventure.

Chocolate is a stunning white cat with a very clear life plan: She doesn't have a dream. Her dream is YOUR dream.

Want to binge watch shows? Chocolate will supervise. Working from home? Chocolate will be your unpaid, very demanding assistant. Cooking dinner? She'll be quality control. Reading a book? She'll be the bookmark.

Chocolate believes in full participation. Observing from afar is for amateur street cats. If you're doing a thing, she will be doing that thing with you (or, realistically, just getting in your way, thus, keeping your from doing aforementioned thing.) This is not optional. This is her lifestyle.

She is incredibly sweet, bubbly and affectionate and is absolutely committed to charming any human that wants to be in her presence. She wants pets. She wants to chat. She wants to be involved in everything that is going on at all times. Privacy? Who's that?

Chocolate is looking for a human co-star (she's the spotlight.) If you've been dreaming of a velcro cat who believes personal space is a myth and attention is a love language, congratulations - Chocolate is your dream girl.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
