Panic came to us as an owner surrender after living in a loving home for 13 years. After her owner passed away and family was unable to take her in, she found her way to us. Her previous owner`s family notes that, although she did previously live with other animals, she would do best in a home where she can be your one and only; she did not get along with the other animals and simply tolerated them the whole time. Panic occasionally, well, panicked when she interacted with them.
In the shelter, Panic has been very fearful of everyone and everything. She does not like loud noises or sudden movements. After over a week of behavior work, Panic finally allows cat staff to pet her and will lean into scratches. However, she tends to dart to the other side of her cage at first. Because of her strong boundaries (that she would only ever enforce by running away), we recommend that she also go to a home with no children under 12 years old.
We know that Panic has been through so much in the last month, and we know that there`s a sweet and loving cat hiding underneath her scared exterior. If you have an adult-only home with no other pets and the room for a sweet senior girl to blossom, come meet Panic today and give her the second chance she deserves!
