My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chief Mate Gary is a big, beefy boy with the jowls of a prizefighter and the heart of a hopeless romantic. One look at his sturdy frame and you might thin he's a tough guy, but that's just clever street smarts talking. Life on the outside taught Gary to look like a bruiser. In reality? He's a sensitive, affectionate teddy bear who just wants to love and be loved.

Gary will quietly let you know when he needs attention. He will notify you he's eager to be free of his enclosure and back where he belongs, in someone's arms. When you meet him he's quick to greet you with a curious sniff and a friendly head lean. He adores having his big jowls massaged and his forehead scratched, pressing in with a rumbling purr.

This meaty boy has energy to spare and benefits from playtime to help channel it. Wand toys? Yes, please! Gary is an expert hunter. Felt toys and soft mice dusted with catnip get him rolling, rubbing and blissfully engaged. He's less impressed with the flashy bells-and-whistles toys. Gary is a simple guy at heart.

Gary would thrive in a home that understands big personalities and even bigger hearts. A home that can offer patience, play, enrichment, and lots of affection. In return, you'll get a loyal, snuggly companion who leans into your hand, devours his favorite treats with gusto, and gazes up at you like you hold the world in your hands.

Chief Mate Gary is ready to retire from street legend status and become someone's cherished first mate for life.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

By adopting a Feline Rescue cat you will be supporting a caring, no-kill shelter and making room for one more homeless cat. We are always looking for good, safe, loving homes for our many cats and kittens. We want to be sure placements are a success for both parties, so before we send our feline friends home with anyone, we ask you to fill out a basic questionnaire. Since we work with cats everyday we will be able to suggest a perfect match to your needs. All of our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption, receive all age-appropriate vaccinations, and high-quality veterinary care and exams. We charge an adoption fee to offset these costs. Adoption Hours: We are open seven days a week for adoptions, but our hours do vary. Please visit our website to see up to date open hours.
