My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chester is a handsome grey tabby Domestic Shorthair with a quiet strength about him. He came to us from a hoarding situation in Mauston involving both excessive belongings and a large number of cats. Working alongside the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office, we were able to take custody of Chester and the other cats involved.

Despite the instability in his past, Chester has shown us just how resilient he is. He coexists well with other cats and does fine around dogs, making him a great candidate for a multi-pet household. He has learned that safe spaces, consistent care, and gentle handling are something he can rely on.

Chester may need a little time to fully adjust to a new home, but with patience and kindness, he is sure to continue blossoming. Cats like Chester remind us how adaptable and forgiving animals can be when finally given the care they deserve.

All of our cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. If you’re ready to give Chester the safe, loving home he’s been waiting for, please fill out an application on our website.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process prioritizes accessibility, equality, and inclusivity. An application can be completed online or in person, ensuring accessibility for all potential adopters. Additionally, our application is available in Spanish to cater to a diverse range of applicants.

Once an application is submitted and approved, we facilitate adoption meet-and-greets on-site at our shelter's adoption center. This allows potential adopters to interact with the animals they are interested in and make informed decisions about their adoption.

Overall, our adoption program is designed to make the process as smooth and inclusive as possible, ensuring that each animal finds a loving and permanent home.
