Babe says hello! This adorable boy is a skinny pig who has lots of love to give! He is shy in new environments, but will turn into a sweet, chatty piggie with time. Guinea pigs like Babe make cute noises like whistling, purring, squealing, and generally like to chatter. They make great pets as we are usually calm and easy to handle and care for. His diet consists of timothy hay and pellets with a daily leafy green salad. He will also need a daily supplement of vitamin C because like humans, guinea pigs are unable to store or create vitamin C in their bodies. Vitamin C tablets are a great way to keep Babe happy and healthy! Due to their lack of fur, skinny pigs require a bit of extra care, so please be sure to do some research into that. Adopt Babe today!

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
