Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Mr. Willow 🖤🤍
Once upon a time, a very round, very frightened tuxedo feline was found roaming the streets. One look at the impressively large belly, the rescuer thought, “Oh my… she’s expecting!”
Plans were made. A nursery was mentally decorated. His foster waited patiently for kittens to arrive.
And waited.
Plot twist: there were no kittens. Because “Willow” was not, in fact, a pregnant lady. Once an actual exam was agreed upon, the truth was revealed — Mr. Willow is 100% boy. A big one in fact. At a solid 12.5 pounds, he wasn’t expecting babies… he was just expecting dinner.
This dashing tuxedo gentleman is equal parts sensitive soul and well-fed loaf. He can be a little scared at first — the world hasn’t always been kind to him — but once he feels safe, he blossoms into a quiet, loyal companion who will sit near you like a polite, slightly oversized shadow.
Mr. Willow might be startled by sudden noises, but is brave in the face of snack time. He prefers gentle humans who respect his space. Enjoys soft beds, calm environments, and being admired from a respectful distance
Mr. Willow is looking for a peaceful home where he can continue building his confidence, maintain his distinguished figure (we’re calling it “robust”), and finally retire from the dramatic rumor that he was about to give birth.
If you’re ready to open your heart to a sweet, very shy, delightfully chunky gentleman with a great backstory, Mr. Willow is ready to meet you.
No kittens included. Just one very good boy. 🖤

More about this rescue
The Humane Society of Harris County was founded in 1991 and has continually serviced Harris County and the surrounding area for 34 years. HSHC currently provides shelter and adoption opportunities for homeless dogs and cats though a small network of foster homes and a small kennel on loan to us by a Harris County resident. Just over 2000 animals have found new, permanent homes since 2008. In addition, we provide numerous outreach programs including:
• HSHC Pet Food Pantry, which is run in coordination with the Harris County Meals-on-Wheels program. The program has distributed over 90,000 pounds of food since its inception.
• “Tag You’re It”, a pet identification initiative that encourages residents to properly identify their pets by offering low cost microchips and tags. Over 1000 resident dogs and cats have been identified through this program.
