My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Spirit! This little cutie came to the SPCA from a home with too many cats and kittens to care for. He is now looking for a home of his own to love and spoil him like he deserves. Spirit is a fairly sweet and friendly kitten who craves attention. He may be a bit nervous initially in a new environment but with a bit of time to adjust and lots of love, he'll soon be racing around and playing like crazy. Spirit is certainly very energetic and playful, and loves having lots of toys to entertain him while his kitten antics will certainly entertain you. If you're looking for a pair of kittens you could also consider adopting his sibling, Selkie, who is also very lovely and playful. Spirit has lots of love to share and will certainly grow into a wonderful companion and great addition to a home.
Spirit has been exposed to an Upper Respiratory Virus which he is recovering from. He is currently available for a foster to adopt home. Ask SPCA staff for more info. Due to the virus it is recommended he either be the only cat in the home or with a cat who has already been exposed. It is also recommended he be indoor only.

Adopting a kitten is a big responsibility and a lifetime commitment. Adopters need to provide all the love and care needed to help their kitten have a long, happy, healthy life. Kittens need lots of enrichment and play time, socializing, plus a good quality diet, and regular vet check ups, as with any animal. If you're ready to add a cute new furry family member to your home, apply today!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
