My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Shamrock Shamrock is a lucky, love-filled 2-year-old Lab mix whose story is one of incredible resilience and unwavering sweetness. After surviving gunshot wounds, Shamrock began his rehabilitation journey with the same gentle spirit he carries today—trusting, affectionate, and eager to connect. From day one, he showed everyone that hardship hadn’t hardened him; it only revealed how big his heart truly is. Now fully healed and ready for his furever home, Shamrock is a big boy at around 80 pounds, but don’t let his size fool you. He’s wonderfully gentle, calm, and tender with people of all ages. He thrives on affection, leans into love, and has a sweet way of making you feel chosen. Shamrock absolutely adores other dogs and does beautifully with canine friends, making him a fantastic companion for a multi-dog home or a pup who needs a buddy. Sweet, loyal, and endlessly kind, Shamrock is living proof that resilience and love go paw in paw. If you’re looking for a devoted best friend with a survivor’s strength and a soft, loving soul, Shamrock is ready to meet you—and change your life.

More about this rescue

A non-profit 501C3, all volunteer group dedicated to helping homeless pets in the Greater Kansas City area. Our organization is the result of an alliance between several rescuers in the Kansas City region who share the same goal of ending animal suffering and homelessness.

Although we are foster home based, we also lease several kennels at a local boarding facility. Although this little "shelter" is allowing us to save many more lives, it is an added expense which is why we rely so heavily on generous donations from caring people in the community.

In addition to rescuing pets from difficult situations, we offer courtesy listings in Pet Finder, facilitate low-cost spays and neuterings, work on transfers and transports with existing rescue groups, help individuals and organizations promote, screen and educate potential adopters, fund raise to help pets with special needs, offer guidance and information about animal rescue, organize events, etc.
