Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jane and Ophelia are a pair of 7-month-old, gorgeous kitties looking for their forever home. These two share a special bond and would love to continue their journey together with a patient and loving family.
Jane is the more outgoing of the pair. She can be a little skittish at first, but she greets her foster at the door and clearly enjoys human attention once she feels comfortable. She has a sweet nature and likes being near her people, soaking up affection and keeping an eye on whatever is going on around the house.
Ophelia is the quieter, more cautious sister and will likely need a little extra time to build trust. She happily eats a Churu from your hand and prefers to observe from a comfortable distance while she figures things out. With patience and kindness, she has the potential to keep growing in confidence.
Both girls have a medium to high energy level and love to play. They enjoy batting around cat toys and chasing each other during their daily play sessions. Watching them wrestle and zoom around together is a great reminder of how much fun they have as a pair.
Jane and Ophelia currently live in a home with an adult, other cats, and older children, and they do well in that environment. Their ideal home would be on the quieter side with patient adopters who understand that shy cats need time to adjust. Small children and loud, busy dogs may be overwhelming for them, so a calm household would help them feel safe.
They will need patience as they transition into a new home, but they have already come a long way. With love, consistency, and a gentle environment, Jane and Ophelia are sure to continue blossoming and becoming wonderful companions. - - - - - - - - - - - - - There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimates.
Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.
All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.

Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

Our Vision
A Minnesota where all pets live in safe, loving homes.
Our Values
Excellence in service and care; community; integrity; innovation; perseverance; compassion; a rewarding place to volunteer
How We Help
Spay/Neuter Initiative Program: Providing support to end pet overpopulation in Minnesota
Owner Surrender: Providing a safe haven for pet owners
Foster: Committed to finding forever homes for cats and dogs
Phoenix Fund for Special Needs: Providing veterinary care for animals in need of healing
What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
