My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ritchie - professional wiggle machine.

If you're looking for a calm, statuesque cat who enjoys sitting still and contemplating the meaning of life...keep scrolling. I mean, Ritchie can act the part, but it certainly doesn't suit his preferred lifestyle.

Ritchie is a muted, orange ball of perpetual motion. Holding still isn't really his thing. He's always on the move. Whether it's play time. Or play time. Or even play time. I guess that's really his entire list of marketable skills. He's always ready to play, pounce, chase, and zoom at a moment's notice.

Now eventually - eventually - Ritchie will power down his internal zoom engine. When that happens, he'll lean in for pets like he's trying to merge with your hand. Subtlety isn't part of his brand. He plays hard and he loves hard. Your house will never have a dull moment with Ritchie in it.

So if your home could use a little more (controlled) chaos, comedy, and a cat who treats every day like recess, Ritchie is ready to report for duty. Just make sure you've got toys. A lot of toys.

Seriously. A LOT.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
