Daphne is what we like to call a “roommate cat.” She isn’t the kind of cat who wants to be carried around like a baby or constantly in your lap. Instead, she prefers to share space with you in her own quiet way. You’ll find her nearby in a cat tree, curled up in a chair across the room, or snoozing on the couch while you’re in bed. She likes being part of the household, just without being the center of attention.
Daphne originally came from a home with too many cats and didn’t get the individual attention she needed, so she’s had to learn that people can be trusted. She’s still a bit of a cautious girl, but she’s been making steady progress and continues to come out of her shell.
She enjoys finding cozy cubbyholes to nap in and will happily appear when wet food is on the menu. If you move slowly and calmly, she’ll accept pets and attention on her terms.
Over time, Daphne has already started to blossom. She now comes up for attention, runs and plays around the cat room, and even greets visitors by rubbing against their legs. On nice days, her favorite place is relaxing out in the catio.
Daphne isn’t looking to be someone’s shadow or constant cuddle buddy. She’s looking for someone who appreciates a quiet companion who will simply share the space with you. In the right home, we think she’ll continue to grow and thrive.
