My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Peony – A Sweet Girl Who Blossoms with a Friend

Peony is a 2 year old, 38-pound Labradoodle with a gentle heart and a playful side. She’s house-trained and settling nicely into foster life. While she isn’t a big fan of her crate and may cry a little when first put in, she settles down after a short time. Her favorite place to sleep is in bed with her foster mom or on a cozy dog bed nearby.

Peony absolutely loves other dogs and really gains confidence when she has a canine companion. Because of this, we believe she’ll do best in a home with another playful dog. She enjoys toys, running around the yard, and cuddling with her people. Sometimes she’s a little persistent about playtime, so a tolerant, fun-loving dog would be the best match.

New situations can be a bit scary for Peony, and she may take a little time to warm up. Once she feels safe, she becomes a loyal companion who loves being close to her people.

A securely fenced yard is required, as Peony enjoys playing outside and could run if something spooked her. She hasn’t met kids yet and can be a bit clumsy when excited, so continued guidance and basic manners will help her continue to grow.

With patience, a playful dog friend, and a safe home, Peony is ready to blossom into a wonderful companion.

Her minimum adoption fee is $400 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
