My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My, oh my, Little Miss Mia stopped me in my tracks when I first saw her!  You, as well?  Look at that beautiful face!  This little love was rescued off the streets of North Nashville in mid-November by a kind-hearted young man that regularly feeds local cat colonies.  When he saw this little kitten, he knew she was too small and vulnerable to survive.  He set a humane trap, and brought her in, safe from danger.  We estimate Mia was only about six weeks old at the time.  Poor little baby!  Mia has never been a “clawing, hissing and spitting” rescue; she has simply been scared.  She has been very slow to trust; who knows how she was previously treated by humans.  What she needed was patience and understanding.  Just two days after rescuing Little Miss Mia, this same young man trapped another kitten from the same location—her brother or cousin, Max. The two have been kept together ever since.  They love to play together and keep each other company.  Their foster mom was able to gradually integrate them into a larger kitty room with three older cats.  The room is full of fun wall shelves, cozy beds, and scratching posts that create the perfect playground and obstacle course.  The many cat towers offer great cubbies, perfect for hide and seek.  It is rewarding to watch them both blossom into trusting, loving kittens.  It took these street cats awhile to learn how to play!  I would say crinkle and fuzzy balls are Mia’s favorite.  You can find her carrying one around proudly in her mouth, and Max is trotting right behind her.  They are also very fond of any wand toy.  Are Mia and Max inseparable?  Not necessarily.  Mia does appear to have a bit of an independent streak and a little touch of sass to go with her sweetness.  While it would be wonderful if they could stay together, Mia may also thrive in a home where she can truly blossom as someone’s special kitten.  Darling Mia has the most adorable little white face, beautifully accented by her blue-grey and cream-tan stripes.  Her four little paws look like they were dipped in white paint!  When she first arrived, she resembled a little stuffed toy, complete with a fluffy white bib.  Her foster mom suspects that soft fluff will return even more as she matures.  Mia is truly one of the lucky ones.  Plucked from the streets, and given a safe, loving foster home.  She tested negative on all the necessary tests, and has really never been sick while living here.  It is easy to fall in love with Mia’s pictures, no doubt.  But Mia needs a forever home that will give her time to readjust, to build trust and to feel safe with her new humans.  She is still a bit timid and very cautious, but that will fade once she settles into a patient, loving home. Beneath that shyness is a gentle and very sweet soul waiting to shine.  Are you ready to give Mia the patience and love she deserves?  Her name is fun and chic; Mia means “mine”, which conveys a sense of endearment.  Are you ready to make this little Mama Mia yours?  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested!

More about this rescue

We are a group of dedicated rescue people who want to save as many dogs and cats from the local shelters before they are euthanized. On the average....there are only 1 out of 10 animals that get adopted from a shelter. We are dedicated to helping increase pet adoptions by offering a shelter animal a foster home to go to while awaiting an adoptive family to find them. Won't you please adopt a shelter animal? Or won't you please help us foster a shelter animal while we are looking for their perfect home? What a gift you can give a dog or cat by giving them a place to feel safe and secure....a forever home or a foster home. Won't you help us at Critter Companion Rescue give them a chance to have a life?
