Rainbow Trout is a 13 week old playful kitten looking for her forever home. She is a typical goofy kitten who spends her days zooming from room to room, playing with everyone and everything she can find, and then curling up for a well deserved nap before starting the fun all over again.
Rainbow Trout has the high energy you would expect from a kitten her age. She loves to chase toys, wrestle with her siblings, and explore her surroundings with endless curiosity. After a busy play session, she is happy to settle down and recharge so she is ready for the next adventure.
Right now, Rainbow Trout lives in a busy foster home with her littermates and mom, five resident cats, a 50 pound dog, and two humans. She is used to lots of activity and has been growing up surrounded by other animals and people.
Rainbow Trout would love a home with people who enjoy spending time playing and socializing with a kitten. She can handle being alone for short stretches, but she would really benefit from being adopted with one of her siblings so she has a companion and a playmate who can keep up with her energy.
Rainbow Trout is a very cute and delightful kitten who will make a wonderful addition to a lucky family. She is full of personality and ready to bring fun, affection, and plenty of kitten antics to her new home.

Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
