My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Zai is being spayed on Wednesday, March 11th and can`t go home until Thursday the 12th!*

Zai is a cheerful, people-loving Poodle who is always excited to make a new friend! She arrived at the shelter alongside her sister, Zia. While the two could certainly head home together, they would also do just fine finding loving homes of their own.

This active girl has a wonderfully social, affectionate personality and tends to greet everyone she meets with enthusiasm. Zai is quick to warm up to new people and happily leans in for pets and attention.

As you might expect from a Poodle, Zai is a bright and clever dog who already knows some basic commands. She is both crate trained and house trained, which should help her settle into a new routine smoothly. Zai has also done well around children, cats, and other dogs, suggesting she could fit nicely into a variety of family homes.

With her friendly personality, intelligence, and playful energy, Zai is ready to bring lots of love, fun, and companionship to her forever family.

Zai is:
- open to kids
- open to cats
- open to dogs with intros, including her sister Zia!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
