My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Penny – A Sweet Girl Ready for a Fresh Start

Penny is a 2-year-old Beagle mix who weighs about 20 pounds. Despite having a rough start in life before coming to us, she has remained incredibly sweet and loving.

Penny is the kind of dog who just wants to be close to her people. In fact, she was a bit difficult to photograph because she kept leaning in for affection and trying to stay right next to me the whole time. She clearly enjoys human companionship and thrives on gentle attention.

She is reportedly dog friendly, though she has not yet been formally tested with other dogs in our care. We do not know how she is with cats, and she hasn’t been around children yet, but her gentle and affectionate nature suggests she would likely do well with respectful kids.

Penny is a kind-hearted girl who seems ready to leave her past behind and focus on what matters most: love, safety, and a family of her own. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who simply wants to be near you, Penny may be the perfect match.

Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
