My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello Friends! My Name is Pugsley - but I should mention - in case you didn't see it yet - I'm not a pug! This was the name I brought from the home I'd been in since I was a pup. I seem pretty fond of the name so the shelter staff decided I should keep it!

I am roughly 4 years old. I am a small/medium mixed breed guy. My former owners say I'm a mix between a Border Collie & a Shih-tzu but I haven't had a DNA test to confirm that. I am neutered, up to date on my vaccines, and heartworm testing and I'm microchipped. Now I'm just looking for my furever home.

Here's what my previous home had to say about me. Pugsley loves, and loves hard! "He attaches himself to his person and lives for affection. He's a little scared of big noises like fireworks and gunshots, enjoyed living with other dogs, and doesn't seem to mind cats. He lacks significant experience with children. He's very experienced with a doggy door and is very well house-trained. He loves to chew on bones and walks very well on the leash!"

A little bit about me, and what I'm looking for. I need a home with someone who has energy and time for me. I am an energetic little dude. I do have some cattle dog tendencies, like being underfoot, so I would do better with an active family that has older children.

I'd love to meet you, and I'm available at the shelter Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6pm. If you have questions reach out to my friends at AVASCares@gmail.com or by phone at 989-348-4117. Hope to meet you soon!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

At AuSable Valley Animal Shelter we pride ourselves on making adoption accessible for all those looking to have a pet for companionship. Most of these pets have had an unknown past so we work hard to make sure their futures are safe, secure, and happy. It is always our priority in a new home, that they will be properly cared for and receive the proper veterinary care and home environment they need to live a long and happy life.

More about this shelter

Ausable Valley is a private non-profit No Kill animal shelter. We have a very active core of volunteers and have a play and exercise based enrichment program for all of our animals. AVAS staff work very hard to match pets to people.
