My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cody and Zack are a cute pair of young male Hound mixes (approximately one-year old) who were picked up on Congleton Ridge Road in the Wingett Run, Ohio area by a Washington County Ohio Deputy Sheriff who brought them to HSOV on February 28, 2026. Neither Cody nor Zack were wearing a collar, and they were not microchipped..

Cody (pictured on the left) has a brown short-haired coat with a large patch of white on his throat/chest, a long tail, and an adorable face with dark brown eyes, a black button nose, a white stripe on his muzzle, and short floppy ears. Cody weighs 40 lbs.

Zack (pictured on the right) has a brown short-haired coat with a narrow vertical patch of white on his chest, a long tail, and a sweet face with dark brown eyes, a black button nose, black shading on his muzzle, and short floppy ears. Zack weighs 43 lbs.

These boys are nearly identical twins except for the shading/markings on their muzzles.

Cody and Zack have friendly dispositions. They were a bit shy when they entered our shelter being in an unfamiliar place with so many other dogs nearby, but they quickly learned that our HSOV kennel techs are their new best friends who love them unconditionally.

These photos of Cody and Zack were taken on the afternoon of March 8th when HSOV Kennel Tech Avah Day was preparing to take the boys for an off-site outing and a car ride, and the paparazzi asked if she might take a few photos before they embarked on their adventure.

Cody and Zack don't appear to have had the luxury of learning to walk on a leash, but they are intelligent boys who will quickly master that new skill with a little help from our HSOV Kennel Techs and Volunteers.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Cody and Zack were held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that their family would have an opportunity to reclaim them with proof of ownership.

Since they were not reclaimed, Cody and Zack are technically available for adoption. They will be neutered before an adoption can be officially finalized, but they could be fostered while they await their neuter procedure with an approved HSOV foster/adoption application.
