Oden came to us in an emergency situation. The family was disiplaced, leaving Oden and another dog, Gretta (shown in 3rd photo with him), with no home and a gassing dog pound their only option. We could not have that.
He is a stunning fawn Weim, well behaved, 3 years old. He is neutered, up to date through June, but will be vaccinated prior to placement. Oden just arrived, and we are learning more about him. We have learned from his previous owner, he will sit, shake and lie down. He also roamed freely in the front yard last evening, upon arrival, and would come to his former "dad" on recall.
He and Gretta are suffering anxiety over losing the only family they ever knew, and he did have a stressful time, upon entering the foster mom's home, pacing for hours, back and forth, looking out the glass door for his "dad" to return. Resorting to a crate for the night, it was foreign to him, but he slept like a baby, and everyone else was also permitted to sleep. We will work on crate training him while he is with us. We are guessing he is about 80#. He and Gretta are very bonded. Of course, if possible, we would like to see them remain together.
Playful and social is a good description for Oden. He gets along well with other dogs in the household.
The first step in adoption Oden is to request an application via email to aospca@frontier.com.
