Gretta came to us in an emergency situation, with Oden, the Weim. The family was disiplaced, leaving 13 year old Gretta and 3 year old Oden with no home and a gassing dog pound their only option. We could not have that. Gretta had been with the family since she was a mere 8 weeks old. The family's story is one of a sad nature.
Gretta is a mellow gal, well behaved. As you can see from the 3rd photo, she needs a good brushing and bath, but we are letting her settle in a bit first. It is especially stressful on Gretta losing her home and her family. She is confused at her displacement. Gretta just arrived and we are learning more about her. We have learned she will let you know when she must go potty, is not good on recall, therefore a fenced yard is required. She is a gentle walker on a lead. She is good with other dogs, large, small, male or female. She does like to claim food. She is spayed and will be up to date on vaccinations prior to placement. She is bonded to Oden, and if possible, of course we would like to see them in a home together. I did mark not good with children, as she is older, and spends much of her day lounging, and is protective of her food. She is not very active, would not be one to follow anyone around, but it is important children would not want to love on her or be around during dining. We do not know how she is with cats. We would like to see her in a place where she can be comfy, a sanctuary, even. I think she would actually prefer a quiet lifestyle.
The first step in adoption Gretta is to request an application via email to aospca@frontier.com
