Greetings new friends!! Thanks so very much for stopping by my page and getting to know me better! Please allow me to introduce myself!
My name is Jewel and I am a 2 year old Border Collie/Black Lab mixed female who is looking for a family to love me and take care of me for the rest of my life. I got my name from my big beautiful blue eyes, my foster mom says that they sparkle like sapphires and when I'm out in the sun, my eyes look like they have little stars in them! In addition to my beautiful blue eyes, I also have a sparkling personality, healthy coat, and really great house manners. Let me tell you a little bit about my history...
I used to live with a family in a nice home in Warren. One day my family moved out of the house and left me behind in the backyard with no food and water. I'm not sure what I did, or why they left me to fend for myself, but those two weeks alone were really scary. I didn't have any food or water, and I was living under a parked car during the terrible storms we have had recently. A kind Animal Control officer found me and took me to a really great foster home with N.B.S. Animal Rescue and I'm so happy that I have a warm bed, nutritious food, plenty of water, lots of toys to play with, and foster parents who brush me, and practice my puppy manners with me every day.
I recently visited a very nice veterinarian who said that I'm between 1 1/2 - 2 years old, and a very healthy young lady. I got all of my necessary vaccines (ouch!) and was de-wormed (yuck!) and am Heart worm Negative. I am not currently spayed (well, I might be - I don't remember and there aren't any scars or tattoos...) but will be going in for spay surgery in the next week after I've settled in a bit to my new routine. I'm living with my foster brothers and sisters (rat terriers) and get along well with them, I like to play, we sit out in the yard together and watch the world go by. I'm a super smart young lady - I know how to sit, shake, lie down, walk on a leash (although I'd prefer to run!) I crate well, am potty trained and do all of my personal business outside.
I would really like a family to call my own that has a fenced yard that I can romp around in, or a family that liked to run, roller blade, go for daily walks, etc with me.
