My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bear is a rare beauty – a Black Tabby Domestic Shorthair. You can see her very distinctive stripe pattern in the 3rd photo. Her eyes are gold now but will probably turn green like her mom’s. As well as her Miss America looks, she’s got talent and poise. Often talkative, she has numerous thoughts to express with her sweet little voice. She is outgoing and likes meeting new people. She would be an excellent therapy cat.

“Care Bear” has a soft, fluffy, short coat. Her darker stripes are highlighted against a shimmering carbon black background. Her grooming needs are simple. A bi-weekly combing and nail trimming will take 15 minutes if you pause to call Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers, at (888) 227-8255.

Bear’s mother, Molly, was taken into a foster home as a stray who wandered onto a Pitt County farm. She has been a good, nurturing momma to three healthy kittens – two girls and a boy. Molly, Socks, and Stripe are also available for adoption. Since two compatible cats are good at entertaining and caring for each other, you might consider adding Bear and her sister, Socks, to your family.

If you hope to find an intellectually stimulating companion who will welcome long conversations about current events and family intrigue, make arrangements to meet Bear today. She is currently in a foster home, so please contact the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina (HSEC) via phone at (252) 413-7247 or e-mail at hsec@embarqmail.com to schedule a time to meet Bear.

All cats with the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, on flea prevention and tested for FIV/FeLV. Adoptions come with a small bag of Hill's Science Diet food and one month free of pet health insurance.
