Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Max is a very loving and handsome English Labrador Retriever born in 2008. He is a big boy – weighing in near 100 pounds.
He is very people-oriented and is well-mannered around other dogs. He loves car rides and playing fetch –although he still needs a little more practice on the ‘drop it’ part of the game! Max is mellow and gentle most of the time. He does get excited when people come to visit but calms down as soon as he has greeted his visitors. He enjoys going for walks.
Max prefers to be wherever the family is and doesn’t like being alone. He will follow his people around the house to be sure that he’s not left out of any of the fun. He prefers his dog bed in the bedroom with his people. He does snore and ‘talk’ in his sleep sometimes. His foster family finds that very endearing!
He is very food motivated which makes training much easier. He is house-trained.
Max has a skin condition that is managed with a grain-free diet. He is allergic to fleas so he receives a monthly dose of Comfortis – which he thinks is an extra-special treat.

All of our animal companions are in foster homes, so visits are arranged with the foster family. To set up a time to meet one of our animal companions, we must first have a completed application on file.

Please note that we do not adopt animal companions out to homes that show signs of indoor smoking. Adoption fee: dogs $125
Adoption package: All animal companions adopted out of our foundation will have had a Well Pet Exam, be current on vaccines (cats: FVRCP, Rabies; dogs: DHPP, Rabies) according to age, treated for worms, fleas, and/or ear mites, and micro-chipped. Cats will be tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and cats 6+ months of age will be tested for FeLV & FIV. Animal companions will be neutered/spayed prior to or post adoption depending on his/her age.
