My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Good Morning, Afternoon, and Evening new friends!! Thanks for clicking on my picture! Let me tell you a little bit about myself so that we can get to know each other better.

My name is Ms. Mandy Mae and I came to the awesome folks at NBS Animal Rescue when a very kind Detroit Police Officer found me wandering in the Ren. Center Parking Lot in Downtown Detroit. I was obviously very pregnant and in need of some love and attention so I wandered right up to this kind officer hoping she had some food, fresh water, and a loving pet. She saved my life that day by not walking the other way and ignoring me as I wandered around a very confusing parking structure. She helped me into her car, and took me to a very kind lady's house while she contacted the fine volunteers of N.B.S. Animal Rescue. I was just so happy to be out of the cold weather, have some tasty food, and some fresh clean water to drink that I just rolled over and let the volunteers rub my belly and pet my soft ears.

The volunteers at N.B.S. Animal Rescue are so amazingly awesome - they took me to the doggy doctor to be examined, took me to a gentle groomer who gave me a warm bath and a blow dry treatment, and then they took me to a really kind hearted foster home who gave me a soft place to lay my head and took really good care of me. On May 3rd I gave birth to nine beautiful healthy puppies! It was a lot of work but the NBS volunteers were there the whole time petting me softly and helping my babies as they were born.

My pups are almost four weeks old now and I'm starting to wean them from my milk - they get sharp puppy teeth so quickly! Ouch!! They are all doing well with the help of the NBS volunteers and are growing up to be healthy happy pups. It's time for me to start looking for my fur-ever home and I hope to find my happily ever after too. My foster parents tell me that I am a very sweet, laid back, low energy girl who just loves to be around people. I like to be out enjoying the sunshine on a warm day in my foster homes fenced back yard laying on the cool grass, but I'm not a big runner, or even really interested in toys that much. I'm just happy to be near my humans and to get a good belly rub or an ear scratch every now and then. I'm 100% potty trained and know to do my business outside. I've met some kids before - a home with kids 8+ years old who were kind to a sweet lady like myself would be OK with me. I'm good with other dogs but really would prefer to enjoy my life without a young pushy super playful dog - they just don't realize how nice it is to relax! :-) Although I hear lots of people saying how nice kitty cats are to live with - they really just aren't my cup of tea so I'd prefer my fur-ever home not have any cats.

If you think that you might be able to give a sweet, kind hearted, gentle girl like me a loving fur-ever home please contact the awesome folks at NBS Animal Rescue. Thanks for reading my story and hope to hear from you soon!

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, De-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you think that I might be the perfect addition to your family, please contact the awesome volunteers at N.B.S. Animal Rescue at nbsanimalrescue@gmail.com for any additional information or answers to any questions you might have. You can fill out a simple online adoption application at www.nbsar.org and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today! Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative, cats must be current on Distemper, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative at the time of application. While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and will fill out an adoption application right away, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family. Would you please help me by sharing my picture and information on your Facebook page, or e-mail to your friends and family members? I'm a great pup and I really deserve a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
