My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WE HAVE CONFIRMED WHAT BREED OF DOG "GIGI" IS!
SHE IS A (naked) MALTESE!
REALLY??! YES!
DNA TESTING HAS BEEN DONE!

WE HAVE the results which prove that she is OFFICIALLY: A 100% MALTESE!
Once her hair grows back, the first picture shows what GiGi should look like!

More information about this kind of DNA testing can be found on the "Wisdom Panel" web site. We will also be very happy to share a copy of this report with the family who adopts this little girl!

GiGi is a VERY spunky, feisty little MALTESE who is about 8" tall measuring from the floor to her shoulders, and is just about 6 pounds

She is very cute in addition to being active, friendly, along with a sassy and fun attitude. She loves my husband Mike, begs to be picked up and loved, dances and waves her paws, yet will go into a corner of a room, curl up into a ball and fall asleep.

Despite her missing eye, this little girl is able to quickly go up and down our steps, always into everything and keeps up with everyone here. What a survivor! She is also just as cute as cute can be!

She is also missing most all her teeth, but with her voracious appetite, she eats everything being served. You will have to watch what you feed her or she will gain to much weight.

GiGi is a very easy going little girl! She enjoys being with all the Poodles and any other dog you may have!

She likes going for a walk, but can easily be trained to use a potty pad!

Nothing shy about this pipsqueak as (did I tell you?) she is into everything and (true to her breed) she wants to be with people!

"GIGI'S" STORY... she had been found wandering the city streets and alleys before brought to the Burnsville Pound 4 times! She was completely matted, teeth were rotting while being greatly starved for affection.

Her owner did come to claim her the last 3 times, but this time, GiGi was not picked up.

The Pound shaved her down as she was so badly matted. Picket Fence Poodle Rescue was contacted to help this little, dejected "Poodle" who desperately needed a lot of Vet work.

When Mike and I arrived at the Pound, it was very obvious GiGi had been badly neglected, had an infected mouth, her right eye was missing and she was not a Poodle as pictured on our web site with Officer Peter.

While we normally do NOT accept dogs that are not Poodles, I just couldn't just walk away. So, this 8 year old little peanut has come to us in need of much Vet work and a family with open arms of love to adopt her.

All of GiGi's remaining Vet work has been done. She is now quick about going outside, do what needs to be done and immediately demands to come back into the house.

GiGi has no desire to run very far from home now! This is a smart little girl who quickly figured out that she IS wanted and loved.

GiGi's $250.00 adoption fee will help pay for just some of her Vet expenses, including shots up to date, worming, spay, various mammary tumors removed, teeth cleaned while many were removed, Home-Again micro chipped, Heartworm tested negative and placed on a preventative.

We are also including a new doggie bed, leash, collar, a bag of dog food, treats, a kennel with blanket and lots of good information to help start your adoption on the right paw forward!

At this time, my Vet feels there is nothing we can do about her damaged right eye. A Specialist may be contacted, but that will make no difference. The eye is not bothering her, she can not see out of it and there is nothing more that can be done to fix it.

Please no small children or large dogs.
