Story
Meet Pierre & Chanel – A Bonded Pair Who Need Time, Patience, and Love Pierre and Chanel are approximately 6-year-old Balinese cats with striking blue eyes and soft coats (Pierre- medium length and Chanel short) They are a deeply bonded pair rescued from a backyard breeder situation. They’ve always had each other, but not much else. While they appear to have been physically cared for, they missed out on early socialization and human trust. Chanel recently had her last litter of kittens and was a devoted, loving mom. Pierre stayed close, always protective and alert. Now, with their kittens adopted out, it’s their turn to find a home, together. But make no mistake: these are very scared cats. They are not cuddly or affectionate at this time. Their current foster spent about 6–8 hours a day, for a full week, in the same room before they felt comfortable not to hide when she opened the door. Even now, they remain cautious and unsure. When startled, uncomfortable or overwhelmed they may scratch or bite, even during routine things like changing the litter box. They aren’t aggressive; just fearful, and their instinct is to protect themselves. That said, They want to be loved. They’re starting to seek affection. They rub against legs. They head-butt for attention. Pierre loves to play. Chanel watches closely and carefully. There’s progress- slow, but steady- and real signs that they will be wonderful cats with the right person. If you’ve worked with fearful or undersocialized cats before and you believe in giving the overlooked ones a chance; Pierre and Chanel might be your next great love story.
