Hey there, I’m Gus, a little guy with a short, to the point name that means “Exalted” or “Great One”! Though my name seams simple, it’s thought to be a PERFECT name for a “little Royal in your life”. It’s sweet yet the embodiment of power and royalty. Yep, that’s me, a GREAT little boy, short in stature weighing in at only 35# or so just 4 years old. Taken in by Molly’s Place with my ma and bro, I have been waiting for a chance for a furever home. Ma, said to be a sharp looking possibly PURE Basenji, and dad, well, mom never said, but said to have been a hansom dude, so this apple didn’t fall far from the tree. I’m really have a handsome pooch if I do say so myself. Decked out in a Glistening Brindle fur mix of browns, chestnut and black, my coat is short, face ever so sweet, cute tipped ears, set off by my soulful golden eyes.   Although initially shy, I do warm up and known to be great with adults and other doggies. Fast moving children scare me so best if no children in my home. Once settled in and confident, I’ll bring SUNSHINE into your life with my playful charm and goofy character. Although I’m NOT a wild child, I do need some exercise and a 4 foot fence would suit my just fine giving me initial boundaries. If you have it in your heart to reach out to a little boy that only needs a chance to prove what love is, get going, fill out an application and come meet up with me. Sly’s my name and having fun is my game! Sly, short for Sylvester, is a sweet and a bit “Cheeky boy’s name given for a “ONE-OF-A-Kind” MUNCHKIN! Need I say more? NOT…… At just 3 years of age, weighing about 35# my silky soft short coat of Chocolate Brown,  White Crest and “4” white socks! Got the picture? PERSONALTY FROM TIP OF MY TAIL TO THE STRIP UP MY NOSE! My ears are tipped, eyes “Golden/Brown” that show I’m a “Soft Soul”. Taken in by Molly’s Place, my bro Gus and I have been waiting for a chance for our furever home. Mom came in with us and was for sure a sharp looking possibly PURE Basenji. Fortunately, she has already gotten a home. Dad, well, mom never said, but he had to have been a hansom dude as well. Yep, good looks run in the family!   Although initially shy, I do warm up and known to be great with adults and other doggies. Fast moving children scare me so best if no children in my home. Shilo is my name. Hebrew in origan, Shilo means “Tranquil or Peaceful One”. Right there says it all!    I ann initially Shy and Timid, due to being a breeder surrender and having little socialization with people.  While in Rescue, I’ve grown in personality, playfulness and trust through new experiences provided by a caring volunteer team.   At a healthy 6 years of age, about 30#, I still have spring in my step and like to play with other dogs. I also am calm, well-mannered and seem to be house trained. Heck, I don’t even bark! I am initially shy, hence the name Shilo, and it will take some patience and TLC for me to adjust to a new home and environment. We Shiba Inu’s were initially breed in Japan for hunting.  Just look at my photo, you see hues of Red, Golden, Orange, Chestnut and White with deep dark eyes. Our size and coloration make us look like a well-fed fox! With this said, a 4 foot fence will be required to adopt me for my safety. So, with all the said Positives about me, guess you can see why it’s a POSITIVE to adopt me.   No puppy stage and still years of love left on me.
