You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Cricket! Cricket can be summed up in one word.  AMAZING! Cricket is 8 years old (acts half her age) is healthy and very hardy ....she would happily accompany you on a 5 mile hike!!  She is very smart and has had a little agility training and knows all the basic commands and more! Cricket would love to have a home with active owners that love to walk, hike and go to the beach.  A playmate would be a plus but not a deal breaker.   Cricket LOVES LOVES LOVES the water.  Don't walk her too close to a puddle or she is going ALL in!    A fenced in yard is also a bonus but not a deal breaker for an active owner.  If there is a fenced in yard it would have to be secured and high enough so that her agility training doesn't become a hazard.  About the only negative thing that we can say about this girl is she is an escape artist.  If the door is open or she can nudge it open she is off on an adventure.  House trained, microchipped, UTD on vaccines and had a dental and she is ready to go!! Adoption Fee:  $400.00 Apply only at:  www.paw-affectionrescue.org      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 31, 2025, 9:05 am

Story
Scooby is a handsome boy who is looking for a home of his own! Scooby loves to go for walks and play, but he came to us with heart worm so he will need to be on activity restriction while he receives treatment, so it will be important for his new family to keep his brain busier than his body for now. His new family will be able to bring Scooby back to an MSPCA location for his heart worm treatment.Scooby did very well in his foster home and has been very snuggly and silly. He would prefer to be the only dog in the home, but that doesn`t mean he can`t have dog friends in the future! If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs. Preparing your home for your new dog or puppy ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a dog thats a good match! To learn more about how to make the first few weeks with your new dog or puppy the most successful it can be, please visit www.mspca.org/petresources. For more information on our adoption process, please visit https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/how-to-adopt/ Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) theyre interested in - and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.

Story
Meet Bingsu – an exotic name for an equally exotic boy. This 2-year, 8-month-old Basenji is basically a sleek, ancient jungle dog masquerading as a modern pet. He came from a breeder in Texas, and is looking for a very specific kind of home: the kind that says, “Yes, I do want a dog who acts like a cat and outsmarts me on the regular.” Let’s start with the basics: 🐾 He’s excellent with other dogs – a true gentleman in the canine world. 🐾 He’s a crate champ – happy to hang out in his crate like it’s a VIP lounge. 🐾 He’s not a fan of kids, so a kid-free home is a must. 🐾 He’d do best with a single person or a couple who really gets the Basenji breed. Now for the fun stuff. His breed’s characteristics mean: 🧘‍♂️ He’s independent, aloof, and will 100% pretend he doesn’t need you—until he suddenly does, and then he’s in your space like, “Hi. I exist. Pat me now.” 🎓 He’s highly intelligent but also stubborn, which makes training a hilarious game of mental chess. 🐕💨 He has lots of energy and needs physical and mental stimulation, or he’ll find creative ways to redecorate your home. 🧗 He’s also part escape artist—if your fence has a foothold, he will find it. Not your average couch potato dog, Bingsu is looking for a home that appreciates his quirky, catlike independence, gives him space when he wants it, and is ready to keep up with his lightning-fast brain and body. Think of Bingsu as your mysterious, aloof roommate who does parkour in the backyard and sometimes decides you’re worthy of love. 🐕💫 Adopt Bingsu. He’s not for everyone—but he just might be for you. 🐾 If you are interested in finding out more about Bingsu, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Bingsu is in Millbury, MA. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
