Story
Stan was born around April 22, 2023 and weighs too much at around 50 pounds.  Stan and 3 other dogs were found in a nearby town and when no one came looking for them the dog control officer reached out to us and we were happy to help.  Stan is absolutely adorable; we are having a hard time picking out a breed for Stan. He is short and stout with the markings and some facial features of a Rotty and he is on the long side and then the fur - it is the softest ever and is a short plush!  The dogs he was found with are very Beagley/Healer-like.  It would be fun to do DNA on him.  It's rather obvious they didn't have a great start to life but that's all behind them now and they are eager to learn and love. They rode well in the car on the ride here and have been wonderful with the other dogs. They will need a bit of patience in the beginning while them learn how to be cherished family members.  Another confident dog in the home will help with this.  When put on leash he alligator roles and so we've been carrying him around - no small task!  This is all we know so far and we will be learning as we go!  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link 'Special Instructions to Seller' if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html. Story
Artemis is my name. But, my friends call me Artie. I am a 5 1/2 year old Bassett Hound who recently came to the shelter due to my loving human passing away. I was unsure and a little confused at first with my new surroundings. But, it didn't take long for the staff and I to become best of friends. A few things that I enjoy include snacks, butt scratches and walks along the perimeter of the shelter. My favorite game is called "what's that smell". I am a natural at this. With ears like mine I have the potential to be a great listener without passing judgement. But will make sure I am heard when I have something to say with my Woo Woo Wait a minute comment. The staff is learning more and more about me with each passing day. I would do best in a home without cats.

Story
Meet Pogo! In our short time of time of knowing this guy, we have already learned he was very appropriately named. He does not slow down… ever! Pogo is some sort of strange Basset Hound mix and is what we like to call a “low rider”. While he weighs a whopping 45lbs, his head barely reaches knee level (unless he’s jumping). He’s estimated to be about 3 years old, but could tire out any puppy! So far Pogo has done great with every dog he’s met. Our guy is super friendly and will try to play with anything that moves. While we’re hoping with a little training our boy can learn some manners, it’s obvious Pogo is going to be quite the active fellow! This bouncy boy is in need of a foster or an adopter, if you think you can keep up reach out via email! petstophererescue@gmail.com
