Story
Milo was allegedly scouted as an outfielder for the Pirates, but instead opted to settle down in Parkersburg. This sweet low rider is a fun loving guy who would love to tire out your kids (or help them practice pitching in the backyard!). Milo is kid and dog friendly, and is often described as fun and playful by the volunteers. He has conned more than one of us into a game of fetch, and has the cutest habit of reminding you to throw a ball when yo forget. He walks well on a leash, has done well in a car and would love to crash on your couch. Let Milo steal your heart, and your tennis balls, today!

Story
Luna is sweet, affectionate, and full of personality once she trusts you. She prefers a close circle of human friends — quality over quantity! Luna is spunky and energetic, but she’s just as happy to curl up for a nap after a satisfying chew session. She absolutely lives for treats, especially watermelon, and she’s quick to win hearts once she feels safe. Luna has lived with other dogs but can be a bit particular with her canine companions. She will thrive with people who give her space to come out of her shell at her own pace. The best kind of home for Luna: Luna needs a calm, adult-only home where introductions are slow and respectful of her boundaries. Her ideal adopter will be patient and willing to earn her trust over time. While she can coexist with other dogs, she may prefer being the only pup. Luna also has exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI), a manageable condition that affects her ability to digest food properly. She takes daily supplements and medication, and with consistent care, she has done beautifully. Luna is ready to share her love and loyalty with someone who sees her for the gem she truly is.

Story
Dixie has been at the shelter for a long time now. Her buddy was adopted and now she’s all by herself for the first time. Dixie is such a goofy fun girl and has the best under bite! Her long ears just flap in the wind when she’s having her zoomies around the yard! She can be a bit dog selective so a meet and greet is required. She has never been around cats before. Does fine with most children! Let’s get this girl adopted before she has her one year stay at the shelter! Dixie was surrendered to the shelter on 10/18/2024 with her friend Buck. They have been getting into trouble and running off, so they had to be surrendered. They just need a little bit of training and taught their boundaries a little better, and they'll be great dogs. They are currently a little nervous, but so sweet and love to follow us around. Dixie is spayed and up to date on all her vaccines. If you would be interested in adding Dixie to your family, her adoption fee is $150 with an approved application.
