Story
BESSIE UPDATE!! Look at our girl go!? From sick and defeated to happy and on the go!!! When we took Bessie in she didn’t even want to stand. We truly questioned euthanizing because it seemed her quality of life wasn’t there but we never let go without a fight and boy are we glad we fought for this girl. In a months time, she has made a heck of a transformation. From not walking at all, to being on all 4 and even at times 2, not just walking but running all over the place. Her tail never stops. She’s truly enjoying life and soaking it all in. She adores her foster mom and her foster mom says Bessie is the best girl. Her hair is growing in slowly and she truly is looking and feeling amazing these days! Bessie is around 10 years old or so and is a beagle but possibly a mix. She weighs 20-25 lbs. She’s mellow, calm and the sweetest thing. She’s great with all size dogs, cats and kids. She loves to lounge around and she loves a good treat. She’s great indoors and is the perfect girl for just about anyone. Bessie is fully vetted and altered!! Huge thanks to her amazing foster mom for the tlc she has shown Bessie!! Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.    All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!    Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up.   Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and Families. We will try to answer all questions and applications in a timely manner. Please be patient and bear with us . Do not contact any of the vet clinics we work with, as they are a vet clinic and can not answer questions on behalf of Wags and Whiskers. All questions and comments must go directly through the rescue. Thank you for your understanding.   ADOPTION APPLICATION   https://form.jotform.us/70898112177159 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 9, 2026, 12:46 am

Story
UPDATE!!✨ I spent my life being neglected… but somehow, I never stopped believing people could be good. “Hello, my name is Daisy. I’m a calm, gentle girl who is approximately 5 years old. I was abandoned in a rural area of West Mobile, where I was found emaciated, starving and desperately in need of someone to care. Thankfully, my foster parents found me, brought me home, filled my belly, gave me a bath and showed me kindness. Since then, I’ve slowly started letting my little personality shine through. ❤️ I’m still a quiet, sweet girl who absolutely loves attention. The second I hear my foster parents’ voices, my tail starts wagging. It doesn’t take much to make me happy—I’m just grateful to finally know what it feels like to be cared for. I’m also your classic Beagle! If I catch the scent of a squirrel or rabbit trail, that Beagle nose immediately goes to work! I do well with my foster siblings, a Frenchie and a Jack Russell, and I don’t mind cats either. My foster family has children who can sometimes be loud and energetic, and that doesn’t bother me. More than anything, I’m looking for someone calm, patient and kind. My foster family believes I probably spent most, if not all, of my life living outside and being neglected. I don’t know why that was the life I was given, but despite everything I’ve been through, I still trust. I still love. And I still want a family of my own. I’m ready to learn what it means to be someone’s beloved dog instead of the dog who was forgotten. I don’t need anything fancy. I just need someone willing to show me the compassion, love and companionship I should have had all along. ❤️ Will you be the person who finally gives me my chance? ❤️” PLEASE SHARE DAISY! Somewhere out there is the family she has been waiting her whole life to find. Our adoptions are NOT on a first-come, first-served basis, and there is NO fee to apply! We never state that any animal is fully house-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, etc. can lead to accidents—even with the most well-trained animals. DOG ADOPTION FEE: $195 The adoption fee includes: • Vet check • Age-appropriate vaccinations (at least 2 sets for puppies) • Dewormer • Heartworm test for dogs over 6 months • Rabies vaccination for dogs at least 16 weeks old • Spay/neuter Wags & Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow our volunteers time to respond to all inquiries and applications. Story
Meet Low Rider, a lovable little hound with a big personality and a nose that never quits! This 4-year-old Basset Hound/Beagle mix weighs around 35 pounds and is ready to find his forever family. Low Rider loves people, and as far as he's concerned, everyone he meets is already his best friend! Like any good hound, Low Rider isn't afraid to use his voice, and his nose is always ready to lead him on his next adventure. He loves treats, enjoys playing with toys, and is happy to head out for a walk on his leash. Whether you're looking for a walking buddy, a treat-tasting companion, or a furry friend to keep you company, Low Rider is ready to join the fun! Low Rider is good with dogs, cats, and kids, making him a wonderful candidate for a variety of homes. He's neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on prevention. His adoption fee is $200. If you're looking for a friendly, fun-loving companion with short legs, a big hound personality, and enough love for everyone he meets, Low Rider might just be your perfect match! If you are interested in adopting, please go to straylovefoundation.org and fill out an adoption application. Each of our rescues will be COMPLETELY vetted and/or updated, which includes a heartworm test, worming, spay/neutered, vaccines, and micro-chipping. We do all in our power to assure our rescues are as healthy as possible and live a long happy life. There is always a chance that an animal we have rescued will have a genetic health issue (since they are rescues there is know way that we can know their family history) or one of our tests falls in that low percentage of false negative category or a they contract a rare disease that we have no way of knowing about or they contract under your care. We cannot guarantee 100% that your pet will live the 15 to 20 years we hope for but with all that we do for them, the chances are incredibly strong that they will. Transportation fees, when applicable, vary by distance/expense. Home checks may be conducted. We are asking for adoption donation of $200. On most animals, a tax-deductible adoption donation of $200 is required upon approved adoption application. (This is a fraction of our vet expenses and you are always welcome to donate more.) HOWEVER, when we rescue a special breed, ridiculously adorable, or unusual color, we ask for a higher donation which helps towards our vet expenses. If you can't adopt, donate or sponsor, if you can't donate, volunteer! Tax deductible donations can be made via PayPal using our email address: info@straylovefoundation.org. Story
Hi, I’m Karen! I’m a 14-week-old Hound/Beagle mix and weigh about 10 lbs. I’m a sweet, happy little girl who loves to play, investigate everything around me and soak up all the love I can get. I have that fun puppy curiosity and I’m always ready to see what’s happening next! I’m being fostered in Waterford, Michigan. I’m still just a baby, so I have plenty to learn as I grow. House training, crate training, leash walking and basic manners will all be part of the journey. I’m looking for a family who will be patient with me, teach me all the things I need to know and give me lots of playtime and cuddles along the way. I’m fully vetted for my age; spayed, up to date on vaccines and preventatives and I’ll already be microchipped. I’m ready to find my forever family and fill their home with plenty of puppy fun and love! If interested, please DO NOT submit an inquiry through Adopt a Pet.
