Story
Meet adoptable Troy (A568585)!This stubby guy arrived as a stray last week and was never reclaimed. Now, he`s in our adoption area awaiting his forever home. When you come in to meet him, you might notice that his ear looks pretty irritated. Troy arrived with some skin issues, but they appear to be improving pretty fast with the help of our medical team. Not only is Troy adorable with his little stubby legs, but he`s super sweet as well! While he liked going outside to explore the yard and sniff out all the smells, his favorite spot is right next to you. He will lean into your side for head pets and will roll over for belly rubs too. The best thing about Troy is that he doesn`t seem to mind sharing the attention either. He doesn`t mind if you pet him with one hand and another dog with the other! Speaking of other dogs, Troy has tested well with both males and females. He will play with others, but if another dog doesn`t reciprocate play, he doesn`t mind at all. Troy is just happy to be there in any given situation. While we haven`t directly observed him with kids, we think he would do great as a family dog. He is incredibly easy going. If you have been thinking of bringing a short king into your family, come meet Troy!Troy is estimated to be around 4 years old and weighs 48 pounds. All animals adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are microchipped, appropriately vaccinated, spayed/neutered and given a 30 day flea/tick preventative.Ready to meet Troy? Stop by 4950 Triana Blvd SW in Huntsville, Alabama. No appointment is necessary to meet our available animals. All adopters must be 19 years or older and be able to provide a valid ID.

Story
Meet Little Benny! Little Benny is a handsome purebred Beagle who is the perfect mix of adventure and affection! While he has the refined soul of a gentleman, hes currently a "work in progress" and is actively working on learning his manners. He is a star student who is eager to please, especially if theres a treat involved! He is unfortunately scared of males, so a female only home would suite Little Benny the best. Little Benny's Highlights: The Ultimate Snuggler:Don't let the hound ears fool youBenny is a world-class cuddler wholoves to snuggleup close the moment you sit down. Travel Pro:Hes a dream on the road! He jumps into vehicles with ease and remainsquiet and calmfor the entire ride. In Training:Benny is a clever boy currentlypolishing his household manners. Hell thrive with a family excited to continue his training journey. The Great Escapist:Being a smart Beagle, he is a bit of anescape artist. Hell need a secure yard and a family who enjoys keeping him engaged. Little Benny is looking for a dedicated female partner to help him finish his "manners school" and provide plenty of blankets to burrow under. Update on Little Benny from his Foster Mom: "Little Benny is truly the most amazing dog. He loves his outdoor walks but is definitely a lap dog when inside. He's easy to train-already crate trained, doesnt jump on furniture anymore, and adores all animals. The only thing is, he doesnt quite adjust well with men. When Im not home and my husband is, Benny stays in his crate. My husband doesnt put him there; he just goes in on his own when Im away. The crate door is always open. Benny just hasnt bonded with him or my daughters boyfriend.I want to emphasize, Benny is definitely NOT aggressive!" Adoption Fee: $200 - Includes Fixed, Microchipped & Up to Date on Vaccines Please visit our website www.summitssanctuary.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.

Story
🐾 Meet Amelia 🐾 Part Beagle? Part Whippet? Part professional heart thief? We may never know. What we do know is that Amelia is 9 months old, 33 pounds, and absolutely precious. ❤️ With her soulful eyes and gentle personality, Amelia is the kind of dog who sneaks into your heart before you even realize it. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she feels safe, she becomes a loyal, affectionate companion who wants to be close to her people. A veterinarian who examined Amelia guessed she may have some Beagle and Whippet in her family tree, and her sensitive, thoughtful nature certainly fits what many people see in sighthound-type dogs. She notices everything, forms deep bonds, and thrives with kindness and patience. ✨ 9 months old ✨ 33 pounds ✨ Great with kids, dogs, and cats ✨ Completely house-trained ✨ Crate-trained ✨ Excellent car rider ✨ Great recall ✨ Learning leash manners ✨ Quiet and non-vocal ✨ Sweet, affectionate, and loyal Amelia loves having a safe place to relax and will happily hang out in her crate with the door open. She's not a busybody or a troublemaker—she's simply looking for a family to love and a place where she belongs. Amelia loves her people deeply and thrives on companionship. While she's not vocal or destructive when left alone, she'd be happiest in a home where someone is around more often than not. Another friendly dog could also be a wonderful source of comfort and confidence for her. ❤️ If you're looking for a gentle young dog with a loving heart, soft eyes, and endless potential, Amelia may be exactly who you've been waiting for. The fastest way to Amelia's heart? Patience, kindness, and saving her a spot beside you. 🐾💕 🐾 Adoption Info: All of our animals are fully vetted, which includes spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing and treatment if necessary, current flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and microchipping prior to adoption. 👉 To start the adoption process, please fill out our application here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/WAG/Dog Please note: The dog you’re applying for may already have a meet-and-greet scheduled or have been offered to another rescue within our network.
